correct ccm?

I've had progressive electrical gremlins the last month, and finally twigged the flooded ccm issue.
Pulled it out, the wires look fine but the module was toast (as well as one of the plugs). quickly ordered one on ebay -1j0 959 799 ah.- but seller didnt know if it was from golf /leon /etc etc.

I do plan to get vag-com in the next few weeks, but would appreciate any info on what to expect wrt being able to configure the internals to work before getting plugged into vcds.

as an aside, 2 of the wires have corroded out of one plug (16 pin), is there an easy way to reattach to the connectors inside or is it a case of splicing on a replacement plug?
