Evening All
Well I'm back in a passat after a long sabbatical. I have picked up a 2003 sport with leather, heated seats and factory xenon's.
After a service and MOT I have noticed that I have an annoying gearbox whine in 4th and 5th from the gearbox.
Has anyone had any success at quieting this down with fresh oil? I'm guessing that it has never been changed.
I have seen redline MT90 75-90 has some good reviews.
I have also seen that you can add a shim to the gearbox to remove the slack from the main shaft? is this an option on the six speed box?
Any recommendation other than a replacement box!
