Electric windows not working

A week ago the electric windows functioned and since then the car has been in lockdown sat on the drive. Today I started it up but when I tried to open the windows none of them worked although I can hear clicks when operating the switches. I thought it might have been the battery which was low but after it had been on charge, it made no difference. I have read that this problem may be related to the central locking but it works OK so I would appreciate it if anyone has any idea what the issue may be. Many thanks.
