Brake pedal on idle

Post by mattbarber »

Hi all,

Not sure if I'm concerned for no reason....but I am worried.

54 plate B5.5 Highline AWX 130 with 140k miles.

I have noticed that when the car is just idling and stationary, if I push on the brake pedal, it gradually keeps going towards the floor. Is this right? The longer I press, the further to the floor the pedal goes.

The brakes seem fine when driving etc....
I wondered if when idling and stationary, the pressed brake pedal creates pressure in the brake lines, and excess pressure is somehow bled off by the master cylinder?
