Methods for raising sump/engine

Post by VAG2020 »

So I've lowered my car on 30mm Eibachs and I'm worried about how low my sump is sitting. I've seen this viewtopic.php?t=45226 guide, where the washers go under the engine mounts, but after reading about broken engine mounts I'm kind of scared to try it out.

Over at audizine a guy showed a different method, putting the washer on the top of the engine mount, has anyone tried this on the passat? My thinking is that this allows the load to be spread out at the bottom of the mount rather than concentrated on the washers...

Also I kind of find it hard to judge how much clearance I have while driving, so far i've just been careful and lucky. Can any people running similar setups tell me their experiences, do you guys avoid steep roads and go over speed bumps sideways for example?
