Front wheel arch blister

Good evening.
Just noticed what appears to be a blister in the paint on the near side front wheel arch on my 2012 Passat estate which I suspect indicates the front wing is corroding through from the inside
I have seen golfs with corrosion in this area but not the Passat? Are the passat prone to rusting through in this area?
Was also wondering if this might be covered by the anti perforation warranty? And has anyone made a successful claim?
