Lost my dashboard slot key.........

Hi folks, I lost one of my keys whilst out walking my dog. Gutted.

Just want to ask what my options are now. I still have a spare key.

I see I can buy a complete replacement on eBay for £30. If I purchased one, and took it to Volkswagen, would they code the new key, and recode my spare key for me to effectively make the lost one useless to whoever may find it?

Or am I looking at having to buy replacement directly from VW? If so, what are the costs like?

Absolutely livid with myself here!
