Executive estate towing ? ?

Hi
I just fitted westfalia detachable towbar and electrics for transportation of e bikes with a thule easy fold, on the bike racks maiden voyage with 2 e bikes on the back I got 1/2 a mile and the rear left spring broke in the middle now I am worried about weight I only had 67kg in total on the bar which is rated to 90kg nose weight ,any advice welcome
