As opposed to purple haze, i get a small cloud of white smoke on start up first thing in't morning.
I have recently had the injectors done (oct 2012) on a VW recall, and the glow plugs were just replaced a week ago. The cloud of smoke was much bigger before the glowplugs was dun. It was three wishes routine!
I turn on the ignition, and wait for the coil symbol to go out in the dash and then start up. I dont boot her about, i wait until the engine temp is at least 70 degrees before putting power on, and travel at about 60 most of the time; this is a far travelled old lady who's done 152,000 to date and i take it easy to spare her. Had the timing belt and water pump done in feb.
Its not coolant because the levels are all fine.
I'm told it could be the turbo showing early hints that it needs a doctor or a transplant; oil sitting in it, and when i fire her up that oil burns.
Am i over reacting here (is it normal for a car that age/milage to do this?)
Any ideas folx?
white smoke.
