egr blanking plate or darkside kit?

Hi guys, im thinking of blanking my egr?

My initial thought was just blank it off and get it deleted in the map etc.
But after looking i found the darkside kit http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/p ... -pipe.html
I think that's it?

Anyway, whats the difference in just a blanking plate or the kit?
And has everyone who has blanked theirs off, found it to be advantageous?
I have a 2007 passat tdi 170 dsg. Been remapped with dpf delete already.
