Rear Luggage cover

Hi, I have just purchased a Passat B6 2007. The rear cover that is attached in the boot does not come off. It expands and retains inside the comparment fine. If I press the clip on the right hand side it is stiff. I have tried to press it down but still no joy.

Any ideas how I can take it off?
