OBD

I've just installed VCDS and looking to buy a OBD cable but there's so many I have no idea which one I need? I have a 08 plate B6 Passat 2.0tdi 140bhp?? Help?

And also what can be adjusted using the VCDS? I've seen some people turn on the donuts on the rear lights, the inner smaller ones? Is this possible? And can you set it so when you unlock you car your side lights turn on automatically?
