handbrake

having test driven the car im getting i have 1 question
the handbrake i understand how you press the brake peddle and then the button on the dash
but what about steep hill starts ??
you cant move your feet quick enough to brake press the button clutch then accelerator
i see it says use the auto button near the gear stick how does this work ??
