tdi sport 07, clicking sound from dash/heater area

Hi, I recently purchased a used TDI sport 07 plate. I have noticed a clicking sound coming from the dash area when the heater is switched on (economy mode). I usually hear five 5 clicks and they repeat at 5-8 min intervals. Has any one experienced this before or know what the problem is??? thanks
