New Canbus Gateway & Radio?

I fitted a Kenwood DNX521DAB a couple of months before Xmas and notice after a couple of days of inactivity the car would be sluggish to start (I assume due to battery drain) so I've just updated my canbus gateway to a version Q. When I set the new coding I notice there's two options for the radio- analog or digital. I left mine as analog as per the old gateway.
The Kenwood is a VW approved / factory fit upgrade option so surely I should be able to code this in to vcds along with navigation? Can I change the long coding to digital radio and check the navigation se ton too?
