b6 ownership

Post by Jmk2g40 »

in the nearly 6 years of ownership my 2006 passat BXE 1.9tdi started off with me on 100,000 miles
then 129,000 DMF changed as broke to SMF. cost me £600 the cheapest i could find
135,000 changed the cambelt myself and waterpump myself £100 in parts
135,700 changed front disks and pads myself cost £100 in parts
137,900 changed EGR valve as broke cost me £70 in parts
155,000 rear pads replaced cost me £50 parts and labour
166,000 both front wishbone bushes replaced cost me £150 parts and labour
172,000 rear suspention shocks and springs replaced as knackered. cost me £150 parts and labour.

and several costs to servicing, is this much needed do we think. I do all the servicing on it every 6,000 miles change oil and all filters. oil is vw 507. just done a service i buy a vw bxe service kit on ebay used Mehr filters oil air fuel and pollen filter plus sump bung £24. then oil vw 507 oil £22 so cheap service.
Touch wood the car dont rattle or bang or squeak even with this mileage.
