Premium bluetooth again!!

Hi all. Can someone help me?
I've got a 2007 passat with premium phone kit
Red full display, steering controls and rcd300
I've changed the original phone ecu for the recommended unit 5P0862335B
All I get is "please insert phone"
Checked bluetooth is activated with vcds.
How do I connect to BT???
