Cluster change help

Has anyone got a guide how to code an upgraded white cluster from an old full screen red one. My friend is trying to code it but it keeps coming up with ) the new code is the one from the old cluster are we missing something. Everything seems to work on the new cluster apart from the fuel gauge any thoughts on that as well.
