Cluster stays on for second after engine started

Post by Sjcelliot »

Hi

I’ve done a wee search on here and didn’t find what I was looking for..

I’ve just started my b6 2.0 2007 passat 115k miles now and it’s started fine but I noticed the cluster panel had shut off when I looked at it.. I rebooted and came on when I put ignition on then after engine started it switched off after a second... lights work, wipers, heater all work but no cluster...

I pulled the fuse in the engine bay with i believed to be the cluster fuse and it reset the clock..

Is this an issue anyone has had? And what could it be? I’m reasonably handy, did half my time as a mechanic years back so I’m happy getting hands dirty..

Any help would be great... I don’t have bag com but I can get hold of a mega macs scanner...

Thanks folks, this car is getting to be a joke now.. I’ve resisted buying something new as it’s served me well for 5 years with little issue... recently it’s had cam sensor change and timing belt then the battery went about December... now this

Any help much appreciated
